SPRINGFIELD — Things didn’t come easy for the Lebanon High School girls’ basketball team (6-2 overall) as the Lady ‘Jackets picked up a 60-50 first-round win over the Thayer Bobcats in the first round of the Pink and White Lady Classic on Tuesday morning at O’Reilly Family Event Center.

In the first quarter, the official scorer's book added an extra two points to the Lady Bobcats' score, giving Thayer a 17-9 lead at the end of the quarter instead of 15-9.

Thayer jumped out to an 11-1 lead to start the game before the controversy, and Payne wasn’t pleased with the start.

“Everybody is human, and it is the first game of the tournament after a four-day freeze-out,” head coach Jacky Payne said.
