Things looked a little dicey, but the Lebanon High School girls’ basketball team prevailed past the Ava Bears in the consolation semifinals of the Pink and White tournament on Wednesday afternoon in Springfield, 52-42.
Lebanon (8-1) fouled the Bears on a half-court buzzer-beater attempt at the end of the third quarter, where junior Sara Mendel buried all three free throws to give the Bears a 36-31 advantage.
The Lady ‘Jackets could have rolled over after a tough call against them.
