Laclede second best county for small business in the state

Laclede County has been ranked 2nd in the state for small business presence, according to a study from financial technology company Smartasset. The report, announced Thursday, said that according to IRS data, the county is one of the places where small business representation was the highest. The company explained the finding of its study on its website. “To determine the best places for small business owners, our study measured three factors: the proportion of people in a county with small business income, the reported business income and the amount of tax a potential resident must pay on their income,” the company said.
