A Laclede County inmate accused of murder is now being investigated for allegedly stabbing two other inmates in the Laclede County Jail.

Dustin Lee Combs, 28, is in the Laclede County Jail, awaiting trial for the murder of Mark Pitts in Laclede County on July 2. Combs, who has also been charged with a murder in Texas, allegedly stabbed two other inmates with a shank on Friday morning. According to Sheriff David Millsap, the assault is believed to be related to “debt” between inmates over coffee.

The inmates were transported to Mercy Hospital Springfield. They were in stable condition, according to the sheriff.
