Laclede County officials celebrated the recently completed 911 communications center Thursday with an open house and ribbon cutting.
Presiding Commissioner Randy Angst said there had been a need for more work space for dispatchers and the funding came from America Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
“We discussed the needs and obviously 911 popped up,” Angst said. “This is about a $5.1 million project, 8,000 square feet. The building is complete. Dispatchers have been working out of it for probably the last two weeks. The rest of the offices are being staffed almost as we speak.”
