Knight to retain Representative seat

State Rep. Jeff Knight won the Republican nomination for another term in office Tuesday night. Results from the Missouri Secretary of State’s Office showed Knight with 4,774 or 85 percent of the vote. His opponent, Royce E. Tuck received 792 votes for 14 percent of the total. Unofficial results from the Laclede County Clerk’s Office Tuesday night showed Knight winning 1,783 votes to 299 for his opponent, Royce E. Tuck. Knight was winning 85 percent of the vote in Laclede County in the Republican primary. No Democrat has filed for the office. Knight is an auctioneer and small business owner who taught and coached in schools including Camdenton and Lebanon before he was elected to the state House of Representatives. Tuck is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who has worked as a computer programmer and industrial engineer. In other results Tuesday night. In other results Tuesday, Laclede County voters favored Vicky Hartzler for the republican nomination for U.S. Senate. Hartzler received 2,009 votes, 37 percent of the total in the crowded race. Eric Schmitt received 1,609 votes and Eric Greitens received 1,007 votes.
