Kathleen Marion Stretton, 81, of Lebanon, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, in Springfield.

She was born March 16, 1941, in Detroit, Mich. to James Edward and Alyce Margaret Harrington McNaughton.

On Feb. 23, 1962, she married Cal Stretton.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Cal Stretton, and her son, Mike Stretton who died in 2017, and her older brother, Ryan Arthur McNaughton of Buffalo, N.Y.

After graduating from high school, Kathleen obtained her Masters Degree in education from University of Kansas. She became a primary school teacher and ultimately spent over 20 years at Fairfax Grade School in Kansas City, Kan. where the love flowed both ways to and from her students. She fully retired from teaching in the early 2000s and moved to Lebanon permanently to join her husband Cal who had moved earlier after retirement from the Kansas City, Kan. Fire Department.

She is survived by her brothers, Jim McNaughton (Patty), and Patrick McNaughton (Kate); her granddaughters, Megan and Bailey Stretton and her daughter-in-law, Janet Stretton; also numerous nephews and nieces and great-nephews and nieces.

A memorial service for Kathleen Marion Stretton was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Jerry Miller officiating, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. There is no scheduled burial. Her body has been cremated under the direction off Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Memorials are suggested to the American Humane Association.
