Kathleen Ann “Kathy’’ Shepherd, 71, of Eldridge, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, in Eldridge.
She was born Dec. 13, 1950, in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. to Willis and Mildred Langworthy Strouse.
On Jan. 28, 1969, she married Jerry Shepherd.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Larry and Willis Strouse; one sister in infancy, Joann Strouse and one granddaughter, Kaylyn Heinrichs.
Kathy was saved and baptized as a young girl and lived her life as a dedicated Christian servant. She was an active and faithful member of Prosperine Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Jerry; two sons, Jerrod Shepherd and his wife Alettia of Eldridge, and Corey Shepherd and his wife Lisa of Russellville; two daughters, Mindy Douglass and her husband Joe of Lebanon, and Tonya Shepherd and her significant other, Chester Zebrowski of Hastings, Mich.; siblings, Harold Strouse of Grayling, Mich.; Helen Davis of Dewitt, Mo.; Carl Strouse and his wife Connie of Clare, Mich.; Margaret Hubel and her husband Orval of Lake George, Mich.; Phyllis Crocker and her husband Jim of Salem, and Mike Strouse and his wife Babby of Salem; 12 grandchildren, Levi Shepherd and his wife Mariah of Lebanon; Justin Shepherd of Eldridge; Desirae Shepherd of Eldridge; Charles Swarzentruber and Kayla Imhoff of Russellville; Chelse Swarzentruber of Jefferson City; Tyler Shepherd of Jefferson City; Tiffany Shepherd of Jefferson City; Brittany Shepherd of Russellville; Colin Shepherd of Lebanon; Chase Rakestraw of Lebanon; Rylee Rakestraw of Lebanon, and Amara “Peanuts” Zebrowski of Hastings, Mich.; 11 great-grandchildren and one due in December; other relatives; and many friends.
Funeral services for Kathleen Ann “Kathy’’ Shepherd will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Jerrod Shepherd and Lyndell Decker officiating. Burial will be in Hufft Cemetery at Eldridge under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
