Karen Sue Myers Miller, 47, of Ecuador, formerly of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, in Ecuador.

She was born April 22, 1975, in Lebanon, to Charles Edward and Marline Massey Myers.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Charles Myers, father and mother-in-law, Bill and Sue Miller; grandparents, Sherman and Marjorie Massey and Raymond Myers and Blanche Myers West.

She grew up in the Lynchburg area and graduated as Valedictorian from Plato High School, in the class of 1993. Karen was raised in the Baptist faith and attended the Pine Creek Baptist Church. She attended college at Northeast Missouri State University at Kirksville where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.  She transferred to Missouri State University in Springfield to complete her degrees in Communications and Business Administration.

Karen worked in various jobs before starting to work for AT&T, where she progressed to a national sales position and traveled widely in her job.

 On July 15, 1994, she married Wayne Keith Miller and they made their home in Springfield for several years. Karen loved to visit new places and she and Keith traveled to many overseas places including China, Greece, France, Amazon Rain Forest and Ecuador.  

On June 22, 2018, they moved to Ecuador and obtained dual citizenship in that country.  She enjoyed learning about local culture, traveling throughout the varied ecosystems and supporting the needs of physically handicapped and underprivileged children in her community. 

She is survived by her husband Keith; mother Marline Myers and stepfather, Delbert Feeney, and sister Cheryl Myers; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of special friends. Karen was a caring person who always thought about others, and she dearly loved her Pomeranian Coco.

A Celebration of Life for Karen Sue Myers Miller will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Pine Creek Baptist Church with Steve Spencer officiating and Ormsby Wade, speaker. Visitation for Karen Sue will begin at 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m., also at Pine Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Memorials have been suggested in memory of Karen Sue to Pine Creek Cemetery. Donations may be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948 or 1001 N. Lynn, Lebanon, Mo. 65536 or left at Pine Creek Baptist Church.
