Juanita Jeannette Buck, 94, of Waynesville, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, in Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Osage Beach.

She was born Nov. 18, 1925, in Minorca, Ark. to Horace A. and Oda Viola Creach Moore.

In 1940 she married Ned K. Gross, who preceded her in death in 2004. Later in life she married Charles Buck, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Horace Moore Jr. and three sisters, Reva Leroux, Lavern Hopkins, and Ruby Flotow.

She was raised in Missouri and then lived with her sister in Seattle, Wash. for a time. She made her home in California for a few years before coming to Missouri and making her home in the Waynesville area. She later lived in Fredericktown, Mo. for several years, but eventually returned to Waynesville. Juanita worked at the Fort Leonard Wood Commissary for about 13 years, and was also a devoted homemaker to her family. She later became the franchise owner of the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Fredericktown for 14 years. She also worked in home health care and delivered meals on wheels for a time.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeannette Howlett of Waynesville; two sons, Charles “Duke’’ Goss and Vanessa of Waynesville and Neddie Goss and Beth of Osage Beach; one brother, Dwayne Moore and Joyce of Doniphan and one sister, Caroletta Harness of Murray, Ky.; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial for Juanita Jeannette Buck will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, at Sunset Memorial Estates in Waynesville with family officiating, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. A memorial has been established to the Lebanon V.F.W. Post No. 4107 and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
