Joyce Marie York, 60, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022, in Lebanon.

She was born April 29, 1962, in Kansas City, Mo. to Norma Jean Auberry.

On June 25, 1993, she married Tommy York.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Jean Auberry; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Maurice and Elva York, and her precious puppy, “Duffy.’’

Joyce graduated from Lebanon High School. She worked at Carmeco for a few years and later Tan-Tar-A Resort for several years. Most recently she was employed as a cashier for 26 years, where she made lifelong friends. She was an avid reader and loved gospel sings, especially the Brumley Sing when it came to Lebanon and listening to the Booth Brothers. However, time spent with friends and memories shared with Tommy is what she treasured most.

She was a longtime, active and faithful member of Community Baptist Church.

Survivors include husband of 29 years, Tommy York; one sister, June Williams and her husband Lance of Republic; one brother, Charles Garner and his wife Kim of Panama City, Fla.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Randy and Brenda York; one nephew, Karson York, of Richland; her fur-babies, her three dogs, “Scruffy,” Buddy” and “Trixie;  church family and countless friends.

Funeral services for Joyce Marie York will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2022, in the Community Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time also on Friday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
