John J. Vogele Jr., 68, of Lebanon, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, in Osage Beach.

He was born April 18, 1953, in Glendive, Mont., to John J. Vogele Sr. and Elsie May Wutzkie Vogele, who preceded him in death.

On Dec. 12, 1987, he married Hiedi Graham Vogele.

John was a computer programmer for many years for the state of Montana. He was raised on a farm and truly enjoyed farming. He loved John Deere tractors, and had looked forward to purchasing one after the family moved to Missouri. He was an avid researcher, and had countless papers concerning health, exercise and herbal therapies. He was a collector of herbs. More than anything, he loved his family and time spent with them, whether it was hunting elk with his sons, or just hanging out with grandkids. He and his wife Hiedi had been married for almost 34 years. John never met a stranger, and made friends easily.

He is survived by his wife, Hiedi, of the home; children: Angela Morgan and husband Ben of Laquey, Sasha Vogele of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Matthew Vogele and wife Lacey of Bozeman, Mont.; Nathan Vogele and wife Karla of Peculiar, Mo. and Timothy Vogele of Lebanon; grandchildren: Theodore “Teddy” William Morgan, Anthony “Tony” Allen Morgan, and Naomi Ruth Vogele; sisters: Marilyn Vogele of Fallon, Montana, and Carla Vogele.

A graveside service and burial for John J. Vogele Jr. was held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery near Sleeper, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Memorials have been suggested to the choice of the donor.
