John H. Shumate, 83, of Lebanon, was born July 8, 1943, in Lebanon to Joe and Elsie Vaughn Shumate and died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, at his home.
He is survived by a son, John Shumate; three grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Patricia Shumate and Sue Purcell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in Dotson Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. until service time in the funeral home.
A memorial to Dotson Cemetery has been established and memorials may be left at the funeral home.
