Joe Wilmer Mann, 87, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, in Osage Beach.
He was born March 14, 1936, in Shell City, Mo. to Noble and Virginia Gresham Mann.
In September of 2003 he was united in marriage to Mary Hess.
Joe grew up in Appleton City, Missouri and graduated high school in Appleton City in 1954. He then attended Missouri University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. He later owned a newspaper office in Bolivar, Missouri for several years. Eventually he moved to Lebanon, Missouri where he was the editor of the Lebanon Daily Record from 1968 until 1973. After that, he opened his own wholesale business, C&M Enterprises, which was very successful, until his retirement. Joe loved hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of twenty-one years, Mary; two daughters, Jan Hutton and Mike of Tennessee and Johnna Vandelicht and Dana of Lebanon; step-son, Andy Sellers and wife Chris of Clever; one sister, Doris Jean Tenholder and husband Charles of Columbia; very special nephew, Mark Tenholder and wife Jennifer of Columbia; three grandchildren, Crystal, Joey and Travis; several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
A graveside service and burial for Joe Wilmer Mann will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at Mount Rose Memorial Park with David Hillhouse officiating. There is no scheduled visitation.
Memorials in memory of Joe have been suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or The Elks Lodge at Sunrise Beach.
