Jesselyn Sue Fleming, 82, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020.

She was born Nov. 15, 1937, in St. Louis, Mo. to William Thorpe Brown and Signora “Nonie’’ Parsons Brown.

Jesselyn was preceded in death by her parents, William T. Brown and Signora “Nonie’’ Lorene Parsons Brown; a daughter, Susan Rae Thornburg; two brothers, Kerry D. Brown and Raymond C. Brown; two grandsons, Benjamin G. Hilton and Heath Kiefer, and a great-granddaughter, Cassie Reed.

She lived a full life and believed in taking advantage of every moment she was given. Jessee started her early career as a professional country musician where she was given the opportunity to meet and sing with some of the greatest country musicians in the business. After leaving the profession of music, she continued with careers she loved, working as a bookkeeper, a published author, a Laclede County Sheriff’s Deputy, and a host of other roles.

Jessee accepted Jesus at a young age and renewed her profession of faith on June 23, 2019.

She is survived by a sister, DeEttra (Michael) Sewick of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Denise (Michael) Babcock of Lebanon; Debra (Ben) Hilton of Lebanon, and Kayla (Tony) Stewart of Sparta, Ill.; two sons, Shane (Diane) Kiefer of Salina, Kan. and Cody Kiefer of Perryville, Mo.; 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside services for Jesselyn Sue Fleming will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at Oakland Moravian Cemetery in Oakland, Mo. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jessee’s honor to Lebanon Claws and Paws Animal Adoption Center at P.O. Box 2025, Lebanon, Mo. 65536.
