Jesse Dean Penley, 60, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Plato, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2022, in Overland Park, Kan.

He was born March 19, 1962, in Verdun, France, to Claude Edward “Ed’’ and Barbara Craig Penley.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Craig Edward Penley.

After graduating from Plato High School, he received a music scholarship to CMSU. He finished his degree and graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2009. He spent most of his adult life raising money for various charities. He sang with Heartland Men’s Chorus for many years.

He is survived by one daughter, Kaylen Fehrman of Kansas City; two brothers, Cliff Edward Penley and his wife Rhonda, Charley Martin Penley and his wife Christy; other relatives and many friends.

A graveside service for Jesse Dean Penley will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at Pine Creek Cemetery under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. There is no scheduled visitation.
