After three years of fundraising and hoping, the Laclede County C-5 (Joel E. Barber) School District will finally be getting a therapy dog this spring.
The Joel E. Barber School Board approved including a therapy dog into the district’s counseling program during its monthly board meeting last week. The dog will be purchased using funds raised during multiple color runs that the district has been putting on for the past three years.
The specially trained dog will cost $3,000, which will be totally paid for with fundraiser money.
