Jaunita Helen Mace, 97, of West Plains, formerly of Lebanon, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at her home.

She was born Feb. 29, 1924, in St. Louis, Mo. to Delpha and Grace (Williams) Duncan.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Melvin Mace; an infant brother; granddaughter, Sunny McKee; three sons-in-law, Robert Lindsay, Gene McKee, and Loyd Hensley.

She was a hard worker and spent years working in factories and hospitals. She retired from Fort Leonard Wood Hospital after 20 years of service.

Jaunita dedicated her life to the Lord at a young age and was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon.

She is survived by her five children, Rochelle McKee of Success; Larry Mace and wife Beverly of Plato; Lavonne Hensley of West Plains; Sherry Jones and husband Ivan of West Plains, and Laverda and husband Jerry Southard of Niangua; 21 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jaunita Helen Mace will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, at Palace Union Church. Burial will be in Palace Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Palace Union Church. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Palace Cemetery.
