Janice “Darlene’’ (Jones) Rue, 81, of Grovespring, was born Nov. 28, 1942, near Grovespring to William Harrell and Dessie May (Sullens) Jones and died Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, in Springfield.
She is survived by her husband Darrel of the home; her children, Doreen Shaver and her husband Steve of Morgan, Doyle Rue and his wife Margaret of Grovespring and Dena Rue of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Kenneth Dale Jones and his wife Debbie of Ozark, Joyce DeAnn Still of Columbia, Judy Delynn Lowrance and her husband Rick of Mountain Grove, Janet Doralee Chisum and her husband Rod of Arkansas and David Gordon Jones and his wife Misti of Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Pat Jones of Marshfield and Mary Jones of Mississippi.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor David Douglas officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion/Cuba Cemetery. Visitation was held from noon until service time in the funeral chapel. Memorials have been suggested to Mt. Zion/Cuba Cemetery.
