James O. Burgess, 91, of Phillipsburg was born Aug. 18, 1931, in Stoutland to Aubrey and Lois Wood Burgess and died Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He is survived by two daughters, Jackie Burgess and Vickie Krider of Independence; one brother, Don Burgess of Winchester, Ky.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park in Lebanon. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
