James David Bledsoe, 79, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, in Lebanon.

He was born Oct. 20, 1942, in Lebanon, Mo. to Haskel “Hack’’ Clyde and Beulah Gladys Kinkade Bledsoe.

James married Nola Bledsoe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Imogene; one brother, Jerry Bledsoe, and one sister, Joyce Donald.

Jim, as he was known to family and friends, graduated from Lebanon High School, and served in the United States Army. He then went on to work for over 25 years as a mail carrier for the USPS.  After retirement, he worked for around ten years for Bill’s Farm and Home. He enjoyed puzzles, fishing, hunting, reading, bird watching, and going to the Senior Center.  He was always working on the farm and in the yard and garden.He liked to watch NASCAR, and often went to Lebanon Raceway and Wheatland to watch the races.  

Jim made a profession of faith in Christ and had been attending Lebanon First Assembly, most recently.

He is survived by his wife Nola of the home; children, David Bledsoe of Lebanon, John Bledsoe and Maggie of Lebanon; grandchildren, Caleb, Julie and Teka; several great-grandchildren; a sister, JoAnn Myers of Lebanon; many cousins, extended family and friends.

A memorial service for James David Bledsoe will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with the Rev. David Douglas officiating. There is no scheduled burial. His body will be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to service time in the funeral chapel.
