Jalynn Allen competes at state tournament

Posted
For the second consecutive year, senior Jalynn Allen quailed for the MSHAA State Golf Championships. Allen competed at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield and wrapped up a solid career on Monday and Tuesday. In her first round on Monday, Allen carded a 97. On Tuesday, she finished with a 101 in 18 holes, giving her a 198 total score, good for 44th out of 83 golfers. “Jalynn played solid rounds of golf, but the course was tight, and the greens were fast,” head coach Lindsay Darnell said. “Her tee shots were slicing right, but she was resilient and changed her strategy. She used her 3 Wood off the tee and was able to stay out of the trees. Her approach shots were great, and her fairway shots were solid for both days. She has an incredible short game, but the greens were tricky, and she struggled with her putter. For the complete story, see the Weekend edition of the LCR.
