The Lebanon High School football team will begin its postseason run with a home matchup against the Willard Tigers in the semifinal round of the Class 5 District 5 playoffs starting at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Lebanon High School activities director Will Christian announced that Friday’s game would not require a voucher, just a $5 admission charge for ages six and up, and no passes will be accepted.
“The reason we are not doing vouchers is the past data on attendance is at or less than 50 percent occupancy for these district games,” he stated. “This means we are keeping ourselves at the recommended 50% occupancy standard. We require masks until fans are seated and ask for fans to adhere to pods to sit for social distancing. The grass section and D zone will be open for fans.”
The No. 1 seed Yellowjackets (5-3 overall) have not played a game since October 16 against Rolla after their regular-season finale against Parkview was canceled due to COVID-19, and the team received a first-round bye.
In 2020, the Yellowjackets have dominated teams on both sides of the ball, rushing for 3,045 in eight games (380.6 rushing yards per game). They have 41 rushing touchdowns on the year behind a running attack of Antonio Rogers, Nathan Bartell, Isaac Ledbetter, Drew McBride, Peyton Mitchell, and many more.
