JACK NATHAN BRITTAIN

Jack Nathan Brittain, 91, of Lebanon, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 2, 2020, at Northridge Place in Lebanon.

He was born May 8, 1929, in Brookfield, Mo. to Alva “Punch’’ and Iva M. Banning Brittain.

On April 20, 1967, he married Janet Lucillel Olenhouse, and to this union three daughters were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Janet on March 25, 2008; and a grandson, Nathan.

Jack was raised in the Chillicothe, Mo. area and graduated from Chillicothe High School. He then attended Chillicothe Business College for a couple of years. He entered the military as a young man and served his country faithfully in the United States Army for several years. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he made his home in Kansas for a time. He and Janet moved to Lebanon and made their home in the old Burley house on North Adams Ave., which was placed on the National Registry of Historic Homes. Jack worked in the Communications Division at Fort Leonard Wood as a civil service employee for a number of years.

He is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Craft and her husband Michael, Jo Ellen Brittain, all of Lebanon; and Jacquelyn Cruz and her husband Al of Springfield; four grandchildren, Laura, Megan, Jenna, and Matthew; three great-grandchildren, Anthony, Emily, and Adeline; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Private graveside services for Jack Nathan Brittain will be held at the Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe, Mo., under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
