ILENE WISEMAN

Ilene Wiseman, 91, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, in Springfield.

She was born June 13, 1931, in Winnipeg, Mo. to Stephen Nathan “Doc’’ and Nellie Ann Caudle Nelson.

On Jan. 2, 1953, she married John Morris Stewart, and on Aug. 19, 1996 she married Otto Junior Wiseman.

Those preceding her in death include her parents; nine siblings, Earl, Melvin, Ernest, Chester, Tom, Lorraine, Rose, whom Ilene fondly called Roley, Audrey and Nadine; her first husband, John Morris Stewart on March 14, 1994; second husband, Otto Junior Wiseman in 2005.

She was a waitress in her early years in many cafes, including the Cloverleaf. She also worked as a clerk in retail stores such as Haydens. She also worked at H.D. Lee as a seamstress. She owned and operated the Lunch Box Cafe for a few years. After selling the Lunch Box, she owned and operated cafes in Camdenton and the Lake of the Ozarks area. Eventually, she moved back to Lebanon and and opened West End Cafe, serving her home cooking and famous homemade pies for many years.

Ilene was saved and baptized in January 2016. At the time of her passing, she was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

She survived by her son, John Stewart and his wife Cindy of Buffalo; her daughter, Teresa Street and her husband Daniel of Lebanon; two granddaughters, Crystal Graber and her husband Gabe of Anderson, S.C. and Natalie Forner and her husband Mike of Grovespring; three grandsons, Nathan Stewart and his wife Sarah; Joe Stewart and his wife Renee, all of Fair Grove, and Elijah Street and his wife Alysha of Lebanon; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Sue Durbin of Lebanon, and Autumn Stewart of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Ilene Wiseman will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with John Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time also on Tuesday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
