IDA MAE (PHIPPENNEY) PERKINS

Ida Mae (Phippenney) Perkins, 82, of Richland, died Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in Richland.

She was born Sept. 22, 1940, in Chicago, Ill.

On Jan. 2, 1960, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Dwight Perkins.

Those preceding her in death include her husband Kenneth D. Perkins on June 16, 2011; one son, Kevin D. Perkins; one brother, John; her Uncle Charlie and Aunt May Atkinson, who raised her; and one nephew, Curtis Barber.

After graduating from Lebanon High School, Ida began working for them as a secretary. She later went on to work for the state of Missouri as an IM Caseworker, and retired after 31 years of service. Not quite ready for retirement, Ida took a position with Wyota Inn as their manager.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and more recently attended Grace Baptist Church.

Ida is survived by two daughters, Lisa Annette Rainey and her husband Victor of Richland and Lori Nanette Rogers and her husband David of Whites Creek, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law, Robin Perkins of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Kendra McMillion and her husband Ryan, Travis Rainey and his wife Tiara, Kendal Rogers, Codey Rogers, Jason, Marissa, Luke and Mattie Perkins; 10 great-grandchildren; Masyn and Emmalyn Frana, Charlestyn McMillion, Waylon, Grace and Callum Rainey, Ezra Rogers, Emma and Dakota Swan and Hayes Perkins; two sisters, Franny Brackett and her husband James of Richland and Roberta Barber and her husband Porky of West Plains; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Ida Mae (Phippenney) Perkins will be held at noon Monday, June 12, 2023, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor Don Preusch officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. until service time also on Monday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Memorials have been suggested to Hospice Compassus or Pleasant Grove Cemetery. (Please make checks payable to Hospice Compassus or Pleasant Grove Cemetery).
