Howard “Mac’’ McAllister, 82, of Lebanon, Missouri, died Sunday, December 14, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri.
He was born November 20, 1943, in Lebanon, Missouri to Howard and Lola Looney McAllister.
On June 6, 1975, he was united in marriage to Dana Leone Fankhouser.
Those preceding him in death include his parents and a brother, John McAllister.
“Mac’’ graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of 1961. He served in the United States Army for two years. Most of his working years were spent at Independent Stave Company as a cooper. Later he was employed with Shepherd Hills, where he retired.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
“Mac” is survived by his wife, Dana McAllister; two daughters, Christel Folkert and her husband Mike of Strafford, Missouri and Michelle Kidd and her husband Kevin of Joplin, Missouri; three brothers, Wayne McAllister (Paula), of Lebanon, Missouri, Bill McAllister (Lena) of Woodbridge, Virginia and Darrell McAllister (Jane) of Norwalk, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Laurie McAllister of Columbia, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Stephan Odle (Haley), Danna Reeves (Derrick), Devin McAllister, Blake Higgins (Paige), Brielle Higgins (Kory), Amara Kidd and Aleah Kidd; six great-grandchildren; other relatives and many dear friends and neighbors.
Celebration of Life service for Howard “Mac’’ McAllister will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Rev. Marsha Vincent and Jim Terry officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of “Mac’’ have been suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, 1001 N. Lynn or P.O. Box 948, Lebanon, Missouri 65536.
