HOWARD LANE MADDUX

Howard Lane Maddux, 81, of Buffalo, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.

He was born Nov. 29, 1940, in Buffalo, Mo. to Donald and Mary (Griffith) Maddux.

Howard was born and raised in the Buffalo area and graduated from school in Tunas. Afterwards he briefly attended college and moved to Kansas City, Kan. for work. He later moved back and would spend the rest of his life farming.

He was a lifetime member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

On April 4, 2004, he married Catherine Clemmons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald Wayne Maddux; and one stepdaughter, Karen Garcia.

He is survived by his wife Catherine of the home; his on, Layne Maddux and wife Brandy of Buffalo; two stepsons, Leland Dame off Tunas and Robert Dame of Buffalo; one stepdaughter, Tammy Dame of Buffalo; two sisters, Linda Howard and husband Jack of Springfield, and Rosalie Franklin and husband Bill of Rolla; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo with Bro. Aaron Taylor and Bro. Thomas Clemmons officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Buffalo. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Howard’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
