Holman-Howe celebrates 90th anniversary

Holman-Howe Funeral Home with observe their 90th anniversary with a free ice cream social to be held from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, June 29 on the grounds of the funeral home. Everyone is invited to enjoy ice cream, good music and stories of old celebrating as their legacy continues. The original and first funeral home in Lebanon began at 320 S. Adams Ave. In 1901 W.N. Holman and E.N. Stewart partnered beginning Holman and Stewart Undertakers and Furniture. W.E. Holman (son of W.N.) who operated a smaller funeral home in Conway purchased the home of Congressman Thomas L. Rubey on South Adams. Holman did a complete renovation of the home, which was his dream of creating the first full service funeral home in Lebanon. For more on this story, see Wednesday's LCR.
