Health Dept. has 'concerns' about Christmas parade

Posted

Laclede County Health Department Administrator Charla Baker says she has “concerns” about the upcoming Lebanon Christmas parade.

“While in normal years, seeing all the local community members line the streets and participate is a good thing. This year, that large crowd can certainly add to our already overwhelmed health care systems,” Baker said. “As with any other large gathering, we wouldn’t be providing good public health opinions if we didn’t express our concerns. Throughout the pandemic response, we have had several cases linked back to attendance at large community events.”

The parade is set to take place Nov. 21.
