Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler denounced recent rioting and looting but said she was willing to consider some changes to police training and tactics. Hartzler spoke at Thursday’s Lebanon Rotary Club luncheon. Hartzler said recent riots were “shocking to me and disheartening.” “I believe everybody should be treated with respect and dignity, we need to listen to the people of our American family that feel like they’re not being treated fairly,” she said. “I’ve met with some of our constituents who feel like there’s some things that could be better.” Hartzler said she was a co-sponsor of the Justice Act, sponsored by Republican Senator Tim Scott that would provide training for police officers, body cameras and study police tactics that have come under fire.
