Grown Up Book Fair to be held Friday

Posted

If you come out to Boat Town Brewery on Saturday, August 2nd to meet the local authors, be careful. You might feel like you’re in a time warp.

Think back to your school days. Do you remember the wonderful time of year when your school librarian began handing out the book fair flyers? How much money did you find in the couch cushions after you bled your parent’s bank accounts dry? Do you long for the days of innocence afraid you’ll never know that joy again? Never fear, friend. A Grown Up Book Fair is coming to your town.

Author, Phyllis York is hosting the event to bring local authors and readers together. Whether you love romance, vampires, history, or comics there is something for everyone. Authors; Phyllis York, Joyce Ragland, Fines Massey, Laura Valenti, Steve Wiegenstein, Chelle Renee, Steve Whitley, and Chris Burgess will have copies of their books available for sale as well as many other kinds of book fair swag like fuzzy pens, stickers, and so much more.

“I had the book launch for my novel, Turn the Paige, at Boat Town, and it was such a great evening. The fun, laid back atmosphere makes it a perfect location for the Grown Up Book Fair.”

Book lovers will also be able to enjoy the experience of great craft brews in Boat Town’s backyard-style beer garden complete with cornhole, frisbee games and yardzee, or chill in the tasting room and brewery.

For the hungry who are looking for a regional specialty or prefer international flavors, Boondocks Kitchen brings its full service menu to share its eclectic mix of decadent favorites. https://boattownbrewing.com/boondocks-kitchen
