Gospel Spectacular to continue long running tradition next weekend

A gospel music tradition in Laclede County will continue when the 43rd annual New Horizons Gospel Spectacular is held July 28 through July 30 at the Cowan Civic Center. The concert will present gospel singing groups and a performance by former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft. Danny Rhoades, a member of the New Horizons singing group, said the annual concert is a celebration. “What we’re celebrating is the gospel,” Rhoades said. “We always have some of our favorite friends come and people that we do concerts with and sing with perform.” For more on this story, see the LCR.
