The Gospel Get-Together is taking precautions because of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Duane Garren, operator of the Get Together.

Five days of gospel music will kick off at the Cowan Civic Center July 28 with the New Horizons Gospel Music Spectacular. The Gospel Get-Together will follow on July 29 through Aug. 1.

“We are following the City of Lebanon, the City Administrator and the Laclede County Health Department. We had a meeting with them June 16. We are following their guidelines,” Garren said. “They are following the governor’s direction.”

He said start times for events have also been adjusted to allow more time for cleaning between events.

He said all of the concerts will be held in the Exhibition Hall to allow plenty of space for social distancing.

Garren said they are anticipating a smaller crowd this year because of the COVID-19 concerns.

Laclede County Health Department Administrator Charla Baker expressed some concerns about the gospel concerts.
