Gordon Lee Watson, 77, of Strafford, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023.

He was born Dec. 13, 1945, in Lebanon to Leonard and Alliece Hopkins Watson.

On Aug. 21, 1965, he was united in marriage to Eloda Cardin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clifford Watson.

Gordon was a graduate of Strafford High School. He worked in maintenance at Zenith in Springfield for over 25 years. In retirement, he was the top salesman at Come On In Antiques in Seymour. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, liked to travel and was passionate about junking. Most of all he loved time spent with family and friends. Gordon was known as the family hugger, had a kind and generous spirit, and always looked to lift people up.

He is survived by his wife Eloda of the home; daughters Paula Dusenberry and husband Mark of Seymour and Karla Hallihan and husband Patrick of Morrisville, N.C.; grandchildren: Shelby Hedgepeth and husband Kendall, Samuel Dusenberry and wife MiKayla, Elle Hallihan and Patrick Hallihan Jr.; great-grandchildren: Connor, Benjamin and LakeLee; one sister, Anita Alexander and husband Rex of Blue Springs; one sister-in-law, Terry Watson of Strafford; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, other family and many, many friends.

Funeral services for Gordon Lee Watson will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor Steve Jones officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery at Dixon. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27 at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the choice of the donor.
