Heading into the bottom of the seventh inning with a tied score of 3-3 against the Central Bulldogs, Lebanon head coach Alex Weathermon knew that his team would have to deliver in a situational spot to pick up the Ozark Conference win.
From bunts to stolen bases, the 2023 Lebanon baseball Yellowjackets (7-1 overall, 2-0 Ozark Conference) are a team that will keep you on your toes with plenty of swiss army knife-type kids who play the game the right way.
Sophomore Chance Cromer got the inning started with a leadoff walk as senior Ashton Coryell did a job and sacrificed Cromer to second on a perfect bunt that left the pitcher with no play other than a throw to first.
With one out and Cromer on second base, junior Gavin Smith roped a ball into left field that slotted past the Central left fielder, and the Yellowjackets clinched their second Ozark Conference win of the week, 4-3.
