Full Story: Lebanon tennis sees losses against three teams

Posted

Lebanon High School head boys tennis coach Ron Crowell reported varsity losses against Joplin and Bolivar last week and a loss against Central on Monday.

On March 31, Joplin won 6-3 against Lebanon. Crowell said that Lebanon competed well against an excellent team. Conor McGruder and Josh Rogers lost 9-7 in what Crowell described as a “heart breaker” doubles match.

Teigan Vance and Schuneman won 9-8 (7-1) in their doubles match, Crowell reported, and Curtis Frazier and Vance also won in singles play (both winning 8-6).

On April 3, Bolivar won 8-1 against Lebanon, which Crowell said proved the former’s perennial status as a final four team. He praised McGruder’s performance in singles, where he won 8-4 against Colton Ingold.

On April 6, Lebanon played Central. Crowell said Central won 9-0.

"Overall: We didn't play bad. They were very good!" Crowell wrote.

The Lebanon varsity tennis record was 3-4 win-loss as of Monday. They were next scheduled to play at Hillcrest April 7, according to the Missouri State High School Activities Association.

The MSHSAA website also showed that the Lebanon Boys Varsity Tournament is scheduled for April 9-10 and that Lebanon varsity is scheduled to play at West Plains April 13.
