FRED LINCOLN SOUTHARD

Fred Lincoln Southard, 93, of Lebanon, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, in Lebanon.

He was born March 29, 1927, in Quawpaw, Okla. to Edward and Venona Ilene Henderson Southard.

On Dec. 18, 1956, he married Agnes Marie Breakfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Leroy Lawson; his wife Agnes Breakfield Southard; a son, Phil Brown; an infant son; and seven siblings.

Fred was raised in Quapaw, Okla., a part of the Cherokee Nation. He and his family returned to the Laclede County area to run family stores. He owned and operated Keystone Termite Control for many years, starting in the 1960s. He also raised cattle, and was very involved in the Democratic party and community affairs. Fred graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of 1946.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon for many years.

Survivors include his daughter, Carole E. Long of Lebanon; a son, Bob Brown and his wife Janice of Lebanon; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services for Fred Lincoln Southard will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Pine Creek Cemetery at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday prior to funeral service at 4:30 p.m. at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. To sign the guestbook online please visit shadelscolonialchapel.com.
