Floyd Roy Massey, 76, of Lebanon, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at his home.

He was born July 29, 1944, in Lebanon, Mo. to Ralph Farron and Viola May Warren Massey.

On Sept. 2, 1966, he married Nellie Jo Ann Meents.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Anna Lee Massey.

Floyd graduated from Lebanon High School with the class of 1962. He attended Southwest Missouri State University for a period of time and then transferred to University of Missouri in Columbia, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree and Masters Degree. Floyd was a lifelong Laclede County progressive dairyman. He was active in several organizations including MU Advisory Board, chairman of Missouri State Farm Bureau of Young Farmers and Ranchers Association and Vice Chairman of National Farm Bureau of Young Farmers and Ranchers Association.

He was an active leader of Hayes Street Church of Christ for many years.

Floyd is survived by his wife Jo Ann; two sons, Kevin Floyd Massey and his wife Rachel Grace Richardson Massey, and Kenyon Frank Massey and his wife Tara Mithila Doing Massey, all of Lebanon; one sister, Farron May Massey Light and her husband Charles of Nolensville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Jerrica Faith Massey, Karissa Hope Massey, Lydia Joy Massey, Silas David Massey and Mithila JoAnn Massey; other relatives; church family; and many friends.

Funeral services for Floyd Roy Massey will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Evangelist Todd Richardson, Evangelist Jeremy Smith and Pastor David Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m., also on Friday, Jan. 29, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. To sign the guestbook online please visit shadelscolonialchapel.com.
