Filing began Tuesday for the Aug. 6 primary election.
Matt Frederick filed for sheriff. According to his campaign website, Frederick is a retired Army veteran who has served as a Laclede County Deputy for the past six years.
Current Sheriff David Millsap is not seeking re-election.
