A major summer event in Laclede County arrives at the end of the week.
The Laclede County Fair gets underway beginning Saturday.
Last week, preparations for the fair were already underway. FFA members from Lebanon and Conway helped set up the livestock barn and bedding the stalls.
Fair manager Baleigh Bilger said the FFA members are awarded summer work hours. The hours worked qualify them for FFA trips in the fall, she said.
"This is a great opportunity for them," she said. "They have several options throughout the fair to earn those hours, one of the being the setup, the teardown, and passing out ribbons, things like that."
The 4-H clubs help with the home economics building activities. She said the preparations were going well.
