Everett Thompson, 78, of Lebanon, died Monday morning, Jan. 4, 2021, at his home.
He was born Oct. 6, 1942, in East St. Louis, Mo. to Everett and Julia Merchant Thompson.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents; and a number of brothers and sisters.
He was raised in Fairmont City, Ill., and graduated from Assumption High School in East St. Louis, Ill. He entered the military as a young man and served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force for several years. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he returned to Illinois and owned and operated restaurants and barbecue businesses in various locations through the years. He had made his home in Lebanon for the last few years.
Survivors include three sons, Scott Thompson of St. Louis; Christopher Thompson of the state of Washington; and Jeffrey Thompson of the state of Michigan; two grandchildren, Cody and Katelyn Thompson; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
