Essie Murl Hudgens, 99, of Marshfield, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021.
She was born Oct. 7, 1922 in Webster County, Mo. to Patrick Henry and Maudie Mae (Scott) Bass.
Essie was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick Henry and Maudie Mae Bass; her husband, William Lee Hudgens; her granddaughter, Dana Barfield; her siblings, Eunice, Walter, Harley, her twin sister, Tressie, and Vera.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Sharp and husband, Bob, of Springfield; grandson, Ewing Sharp and wife Julie, of Springfield; granddaughter, Carmen Disch and husband, Dale of Prosper, Texas; grandson-in-law, Darin Barfield and wife Regina, of Springfield; eight great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Kylie, Callie, Katie, Dawson, Maggie, Macie and Mollie; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
On June 5, 1949, she married William Lee Hudgens.
Funeral services for Essie Murl Hudgens will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021 at Day Funeral Home in Marshfield. Burial will be held in Mathis Cemetery near Niangua, under the direction of Day Funeral Home of Marshfield.
Memorial donations may be made to Baptist Bible Fellowship International Missions.
