ERNEST ODELL CHAMPLIN

Ernest Odell Champlin, 72, of Niangua, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021.

He was born June 25, 1949, in Biloxi, Miss. to Ernest Odell and Hazel Ione (Ward) Champlin.

On June 6, 1994, he married Gladys Bowden.

Ernest was preceded in death his father, Ernest Odell Champlin; his sister, Odette Shortnacy; his brother, David Champlin; his father-in-law, Pete Torres and his mother-in-law, Leona Torres.

He was the founder and director of Direct Roof Services. Ernest was a member of Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church near Niangua.

He is survived by his wife Gladys, of the home; six children, Clinton Box (Krissie), Towson, Maryland; Becky Bachman (Keith), Ozark, Missouri; Mark Box (Shannon), Wellsburg, West Virginia, Sarah Almendarez (Joey), Conway, South Carolina, Chelsea Booyer (Dalton), Niangua, Missouri and David Champlin, Rolla, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Cali, Cassidy, Chloe, Cruz, Candice, Ciara, Carmen, Charlotte, Carter, Camila, Elijah, Cooper, and Lincoln; his mother, Hazel Champlin, Quitman, Texas; brother, Tony Champlin, Lafayette, Louisana; sister, Wanda Woesthaus (Joe), Edom, Texas, sister, Debbie Flores (Martin), Quitman, Texas, brother, Hulon Champlin, Quitman, Texas; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services for Ernest Odell Champlin will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at Day Funeral Home in Marshfield. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery near Niangua.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Macedonia Cemetery and left in care of the funeral home.
