A longtime Lebanon Police officer has died following a long battle with COVID-19. Lebanon Police Officer Kendle Blackburn, 55, died early Monday morning in Columbia. Blackburn had been with the police department for more than 16 years. The City of Lebanon announced Monday that all flags in the city would be flown at half-staff until Blackburn’s interment. “We are extremely saddened by the loss of Officer Blackburn,” said Lebanon Mayor Jared Carr said in a media release. “Kendle was a fantastic police officer and defined what it means to be a public servant. Kendle served every day with the sole purpose of giving back the city that he loved. Our prayers are with Debbie, his children and his parents at this difficult time.” For more on this story see Wednesday's LCR.
