Elva Jewell York, 86, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, in Springfield.

She was born April 7, 1934, at Big Piney, Mo. to Everett Morris and Eva B. Kelsey Lane.

On Nov. 23, 1952, she married Maurice York.

She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice on Oct. 30, 2014; three sisters, Nadine Dougan and her husband Leland, Thelma Helm and her husband John and Faye Wyatt and her husband Robert; and twin brother, Elvin Lane.

Elva was a devoted homemaker and always put the needs of her family first. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and canning.

Elva was a longtime member of Community Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Randy York and his wife Brenda of Richland, and Tommy York and his wife Joyce of Lebanon; two brothers, Virgil Lane and his wife Montre of Richland and Bobby Ray Lane and his wife Fay of Sleeper; one grandson, Karson York; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Elva Jewell York were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, at Community Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Reeves and Pastor Charles Newell officiating. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. There was also a visitation beginning at 1 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at Community Baptist Church.
