ELIZABETH “BETTY’’ LOUISE BURWELL

Elizabeth “Betty’’ Louise Burwell, 96, of Lebanon, died Monday, March 22, 2021, in Mercy Hospital Lebanon.

She was born Nov. 5, 1924, in Marysville, Ohio, to William and Ruth McCamey Carson.

On Jan. 17, 1940, she married Donald Reed Burwell and to this union four sons were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 73 years, Donald, in January of 2013; two sons, Joel Eugene Burwell and Donald Raymond Burwell; a great-grandson, Taryn Tindle; a brother, Robert R. Carson; and a sister, Mary Carson Dellinger.

Betty was born and raised in Ohio, and after she and Donald were married, they farmed in London, Ohio for several years. In 1962, the family moved to their farm near Falcon, Mo. and made their home. Through the years, Betty was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. In 1967, she and Donald moved closer to Lebanon.

Early in her life, Betty followed the Methodist faith.

She is survived by two sons, John Lawrence Burwell and his wife Helen of Phillipsburg, and Steven Lester Burwell and his wife Vera of Lebanon; two daughters-in-law, Phyllis Delllinger Burwell of Plain City, Ohio, and Helen (Reagan) Burwell of Rio Rancho, N.M.; a special daughter, Peggy Isgrigg of Rolla; four granddaughters, Cindy Mitchell, Deena Schofield, Beth Tindle, and Jodi Taylor; four grandsons, Jeffrey Burwell, John R. Burwell, Chad Burwell, and Donald Randolph Burwell; 15 great-grandchildren, Samantha and Matthew Mitchell, Joseph and Justin Schofield, Shelby and Jeshua Burwell, Kelton and Eilish Tindle, Johnny Burwell Jr., Anthony Burwell, Brianna, Brittany, and Colton Taylor, Julie Ann and Samantha Burwell; a number of great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Elizabeth “Betty’’ Louise Burwell will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Mount Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Lebanon with Jim Buttrey officiating.
