EDWARD “RED’’ RUBLE

Edward “Red’’ Ruble, 87, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021, in Lebanon.
He was born Nov. 16, 1933, in Brownfield, Mo. to William Earl and Effie Mae Ogle Ruble.
On Feb. 16, 1955, he married Betty Joan Griffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Milan Ruble; son-in-law, Jeff Poole; sister-in-law, Judy Ruble; brother-in-law, Larry Weddle; brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Bonnie Griffin.
Red worked in an apple orchard in Yakima, Wash., as a newlywed. After returning to Lebanon, he worked for Cola-Cola for 39 years. He was then employed with Laclede County Road and Bridge for 12 years. He was a minister in our community for 57 years, pastoring to many churches including New Home, Gardner, Crossroads, Sunnyview, Pleasant View, Second Freewill Baptist and North Five Freewill Baptist. He loved a good practical joke, fishing and gardening. However, time spent with his family is what he treasured most.
He was a member of Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church, where he grew up and also served as pastor twice through the years.
He is survived by his wife Betty Joan of the home; children, Terry Ruble and his wife Wendy of Montreal; Teddy Ruble and his wife Vanessa, Theresa Kinsley and her husband Harvey and Tracy Poole, all of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one brother, Nathan Ruble of Lebanon; two sisters, Opal Plummer of Lebanon, and Jolene Pruitt and her husband John of Richland; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Edward “Red’’ Ruble will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with David Douglas, Scotty Myers and Tim Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday evening, March 26, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Under the guidelines of the CDC and the state of Missouri, the staff of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel ask that you observe social distancing and proper hygiene. The family asks for their safety and the safety of others that masks be worn. Those guidelines will be monitored during this time to accommodate the family and their wishes.
