Dr. Alan L. Strand, 93, of Nixa, formerly of Lebanon, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, in Nixa.
He was born Sunday, Sept. 11, 1926, in Chicago, Ill. to Axel E. Ruth Tyler Strand.
On July 19, 1975, he married Anita C. Bray.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Axel and Ruth Strand; his wife Anita C. Bray Strand, and a stepson, Ronald Earl.
Dr. Alan L. Strand had a PhD in psychology and operated a private practice as a psychologist.
He is survived by his children, Reverend Tyler Strand, of Albuquerque, N.M.; Lauren Strand-Buckley of Chicago, Ill.; Mark Strand (Meg) of LaGrange, Ill. and Ruth Brienton of Apple Valley, Minn.; his stepchildren, David Earl of Phoenix, Ariz.; Susan Earl (Keith Wappel) of Winthrop Harbor, Ill.; Phillip Earl (Kerry) of O’Fallon, and Carol Cayer (James) of Battlefield; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many furry friends; other relatives and friends
A Celebration of Life for Dr. Alan L. Strand will be held this summer at the First United Methodist Church in Lebanon. Per his request, his body is to be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Memorials have been suggested to Disabled Veterans (DAV).
