The Honorable Douglas Elmore Long Jr., 89 of Waynesville, longtime Circuit Judge of the 25th Judicial Circuit, passed away the morning of Thursday, March 28, 2024.
Judge Long is survived by his wife Ruth of the home; four children, Vicki Long Diggs and her husband, Michael of Kansas City, Douglas E. “Chip” Long III of Jefferson City, Berry Long and his wife, Shana of Kansas City, and The Honorable Colin P. Long and his wife Courtney of Waynesville; seven grandchildren: Alex Martinez, Colby Martinez, Ben Martinez, Caleb Diggs, Harrison Long, Connor Long, and Cate Long; three great grandchildren: Raymond, Carter, and Summer; one sister, Karen Garner and her husband Dr. Royal Garner of the state of Florida; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A private family burial will be held in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of The Honorable Douglas E. Long, Jr. to the Waynesville R-VI School District Foundation and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.
